Orange County Virginia Recreation

Recreation opportunities in Orange County, Virginia are as diverse as its population. Activities are available for virtually every age group and interest. Schedules for seasonal activities such as the Orange County Fair, Parades, Street Festivals, Civil War Reenactments and Point-to-Point Horse Races can be found at the Orange County Visitors Bureau.

The Orange County Recreation Department is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in the Sedwick Building on Madison Road in Orange. Debra Bickley is the Department Director and can be reached by calling 672-5435. The Department of Recreation coordinates and runs a variety of programs for county residents. The department operates three before and after school child care sites at Gordon-Barbour Elementary School, Lightfoot Elementary School, and Orange Elementary School.

Orange County is rich in Golfing opportunities. Several courses offer a wide range of difficulty and challenge.

relax on the Rapidan River -a Virginia Scenic River. Activities
at the nearby lakes, Lake Anna and Lake Orange, may include boating, fishing or camping.
