Building Permits are required for any type of addition or alteration to an existing home, for plumbing and electrical changes, and for construction of storage buildings 150 square feet or larger.

Orange County employs two building officials. They inspect new construction along with renovations of all kinds. Inspection fees vary, depending upon whether the work is residential or commercial.
